How do you organize essential oils?

  • Alphabetical order makes it easy to quickly find the oil you need
  • The best packaging for essential oils is dark bottles so try your best to only buy these. Amber glass bottles are very popular and coming in second would be cobalt blue bottles. Try not to purchase clear glass bottles.
  • Room temperature and not in direct sunlight is best to protect your oils from being damaged
  • keep your oils away from heat sources. For example, if you are using your essential oils for cooking, don’t leave them near the stove as this can mess with the chemical composition.
  • Have a separate storage area for empty bottles (don’t throw them out!)
  • Easy access! This will help you to use them consistently. But keep them away from kids and pets.
  • Keep your oils tightly sealed

Where are the best places to store essential oils?

Essential oils are best stored tucked away in cabinets, drawers, and containers rather than left out in the open.

Some say that you can even refrigerate or freeze your essential oils for them to last longer.

I am not a chemist and don’t have personal experience with this method so you may want to do further research on this if you want to organize your essential oils in this way.

This post is all about the best essential oil storage ideas.
