What should be included in a coffee station?

Everyone’s coffee bar will be different but here are some popular items you may want to include in your kitchen countertop coffee station for it to feel complete:

  • Coffee maker (drip coffee, French press, espresso machine, mini Keurig I use, etc.)
  • Electric kettle
  • Coffee grinder
  • Storage for coffee beans or grounds
  • Sugar or sweetener
  • Flavored sweeteners and spices (cinnamon, cocoa powder etc.)
  • Mugs or coffee cups
  • Spoons or stirrers
  • Napkins (cloth napkins are cute and less wasteful!)
  • Coffee station decor (coasters, signs, houseplants)
  •  Milk frother, coffee filters etc.

Again, feel free to customize! You may not need everything on this list.

Coffee Station Organization Tips

1. Add a bar above your coffee station to keep clutter off of your kitchen countertops

Use a simple neutral colored bar with hooks to hold coffee cups, coffee-making tools, and decor.

I love these because they can help to keep your kitchen countertops clear of clutter.

2. Keep homemade syrups in air-tight pumps

If you love to make homemade syrups and sweeteners for your coffee, use these glass pumps to keep them fresh.

These smaller ones are great because they work perfectly if you have a smaller kitchen. Don’t forget to label them to stay extra organized.

3. Keep your favorite coffee mugs on display with a vertical cup holder

Vertical organizers will open up your counter space and beautifully display your mugs!

This also works great as a drying rack to place your mugs on.

4. Keep your kitchen counters clear and use cabinets instead

If you prefer a more minimalistic look, you don’t have to have all of your coffee accessories and tools on your kitchen countertops.

Make good use of the cabinets and drawers below your coffee station.

5. Use a butcher block to designate your coffee station

Use a butcher block that you already own to designate a spot for where your coffee tools will stay.

Be sure to choose a butcher block or tray that is different from your countertops so it really pops! This looks WAY better than the syrups and cups staggered around your counter.

6. Use air-tight containers to keep things fresh

Sometimes the packaging that our coffee products come in don’t have the best sealants. You don’t want air or critters getting into your coffee products.

I love the little spoons on the side as well to help cut down on dishes!

7. Pegboards create extra storage and shelving

Again with the vertical storage! I love pegboards because you can easily customize them as your coffee collection grows and you need to add more shelves.

8. Use a drawer under your coffee maker to hold coffee pods or other small coffee tools

If you don’t have extra space in your kitchen drawers, create a drawer on top of your kitchen counters.

9. Use a rolling cart to create extra space for a coffee station

If you don’t have the counter space for an at-home coffee bar, thrift or pick up a simple rolling cart to keep all of your coffee products contained.

I love that you can roll them into your living room or even an outdoor space if you are hosting a gathering and want to switch things up.

10. Drawer organizers to organize Nespresso pods

Keep your drawers organized with simple dividers. It is so easy to throw your coffee products into a drawer (no shame!) but these keep all the different flavors of coffee products or tools separated.

11. Combine your coffee and tea station

I am a coffee lover through and through but I also love a good cup of tea.

These bamboo organizers can keep all of your different tea packets separated so your coffee station is more of an organized beverage station.

12. Turntable to maximize kitchen counter space

In order to keep your coffee products clustered together, throw them on a turntable!

These are the perfect way to be able to reach all of your items without knocking over items and spilling things.

13. Thrift or upcycle various containers for a unique look

Make your coffee station look all your own by thrifting unique containers.

I also really love to use old candle containers for extra storage. The containers are cute so you may as well reuse them!
