How to Organize Bathroom Drawers

1. Customized dividers

Aren’t these drawer dividers gorgeous?! I love these bathroom dividers because you can perfectly customize each section for your toiletries, face towels, and beauty tools.

If you need to move, they work perfectly for various drawer sizes.

2. The best thing to line bathroom drawers with

There are pros and cons to choosing light, dark, or patterned drawer liners.

Light liners make the drawer more inviting, dark liners make your products pop and patterns bring a bit of fun to a practical area.

Either way, drawer liners protect your drawers and are a small touch to bringing your bathroom organization to the next level.

3. Extendable dividers for deep narrow drawers

Deep narrow drawers are the trickiest to organize!

I have found extendable drawer dividers to work the best. That way you can keep all of your products standing upright and not in a piled mess.

4. How to organize makeup in bathroom drawers

Depending on the type of drawers you have (wide, narrow, shallow etc.) you can store your makeup vertically or horizontally.

The benefit of storing your makeup vertically is that you can store a larger amount of beauty products.

If you have a smaller makeup collection and want to be able to see everything at a glance go with laying them horizontally and separated with organizers.

5. Small drawers and shallow bathroom drawers

If your home has shallow bathroom drawers, something like these organizers will work perfectly.

They are small (and shallow) enough to fit in your drawers but still help to keep items separated.

6. Use thin buckets for hair tool storage

The biggest annoyance with organizing hair tools is the long extension cords that can get tangled.

Rather than putting them in a drawer together, add in some small buckets or dividers.

These work great because if your hair tools have special attachments they won’t get lost in the back of your drawer.

7. Upcycle paper boxes and other containers you already own

Organizers can get expensive! Especially if you are trying to organize more than one bathroom. Start with items you already own before buying more organizers.

Upcycle shoe boxes, online shopping boxes, or even food boxes to create budget-friendly DIY drawer organizers.

8. Organizing towels in drawers by rolling them

You may put the majority of your towels in a linen closet but it is helpful to have a few face towels or hand towels nearby in your bathroom drawers.

I have found that rolling my smaller towels works the best for packing them nice and snug.

9. Small baskets that you can easily remove (great for kids’ bathroom drawers!)

These smaller bucket-like organizers are perfect for shared bathrooms or organizing kid bathroom drawers.

Each person can take out the bucket that they need and spread out rather than crowding around the drawer.

10. Organizing a bathroom with no drawers

If your bathroom doesn’t have drawers or you simply need more drawer space, use the area under your bathroom sink.

You can add stand-alone drawers for extra storage. This area also works great to store backup products. Keep your most used items in a top drawer and then keep your bulk items down below.

11. Toothbrush organization in drawers

Store your toothbrush in an organizer that comes with a lid to ensure it stays separated from the nasties in your bathroom!

These drawer storage boxes come in all different colors to match your bathroom decor!

12. Vertical storage for cleaning supplies and bulk toiletries

If your bottom drawers are deep enough, try to stand your products upright to save space and minimize spills.

You can also keep smaller toiletries in higher drawers for ease of use and simply refill them with your bulk items from down below.

13. Declutter bathroom drawers checklist

Before you start organizing or even buy new organizers it can be super helpful to declutter.

There is no use organizing items that are broken, you don’t use, or that you simply don’t like.

Use this checklist to declutter products from your bathroom drawers.
