Easy Christmas Crafts to Make and Sell
1. Christmas mug sets for tea and hot cocoa lovers
Cold weather automatically means warm drinks to cozy up with. You can make some mugs for tea lovers and fill them with tea bags, cinnamon sticks, and dried fruits.
And then make one for chocolate lovers and fill them with hot cocoa mix, marshmallows, and peppermint sticks!
2. DIY Christmas garland
Whip up some handmade garlands using felt, paper, dried oranges, or wood. Christmas trees or letters spelling out season’s greetings are classic but beautiful garlands that you can add your own twist to.
These are great for classrooms or apartments where people may not have a ton of space to decorate with large Christmas decor.
Christmas garland material ideas:
- Felt
- Festive patterned paper
- Dried oranges
- Wood
- Pom poms
- Bells
- Tissue paper
- Popcorn and cranberry
- Beads (can be made out of clay and painted)
- Ribbons
- Evergreen leaves
- Pinecones
3. Personalized Christmas ornaments
Keep it classic, with personalized Christmas ornaments! These can be hand-painted, engraved, or filled with glitter/Epsom salt to look like snow.
You can add the name and then simple holiday designs around the ornament as well.
There are SO many different ways you can expand this idea depending on your niche; Baby’s first Christmas, ornaments for pets, first Christmas in new home etc.
4. Christmas tea towels using stamps
Use stamps (or potato stamps! Yes from the food) to add stockings, candy canes, or snowflakes to napkins.
People love to buy these for the holidays as gifts or to use on their Christmas tablescapes.
5. Homemade wrapping paper using stamps or other materials
Use Kraft paper and truly any art materials to make wrapping paper. Stamps, paint, glitter, magazine clippings, lettering, embroidery-truly, the list goes on for all the different ways you can make wrapping paper.
This may not work at a craft fair but if you can get orders ahead of time you can personalize the wrapping paper! How special would it be for each guest to receive personalized wrapping paper?!
6. Handmade or digital Christmas wall art
Wall art is great for Christmas home decor or it can be used to decorate for Christmas parties.
You can make each piece of wall art by hand or you can make it digitally on a platform like Canva.
Christmas quotes, holiday greetings, or Christmas characters would do great! If you thrift frames and them decorate them or clean them up you can save money as well.
7. Holiday wreaths using various items (not just plants!)
Create traditional wreaths out of greenery, ribbons, and pinecones, or go with a more eclectic look using upcycled items!
You can use newspapers, book pages, or festive patterned paper to make a more unique Christmas wreath. Experiment with different materials like felt, dried flowers, and more to create a one-of-a-kind Christmas wreath!
8. Christmas tree skirts
Pick up some festive fabric to make sew or no-sew tree skirts. If you love to sew you could embroider customers names on the skirt.
If you don’t know how to sew you could use fabric paint to create unique Christmas tree skirts. You can secure the skirts with bows or velcro.
People love personalization for Christmas crafts so lean into that when crafting!
9. Handmade Christmas cards
Pick up some nice cardstock and paint (or stamps!) to do simple lettering to create holiday cards.
Sometimes the cards at the store look the exact same so it is nice to be able to offer something different!
10. Christmas-themed candles
Who doesn’t love a holiday-scented candle? Buy candle wax in bulk, holiday essential oils (peppermint, frankincense, clove, sweet orange, pine etc.), and thrift some unique vases or jars.
You can paint them or leave them as is if they are Christmas themed. I recently found the website Makesey.com and they have really cute items to make crafts as well!
11. Holiday gift tags made out of wood or clay
Help people get their gift boxes looking next level by creating handmade gift tags.
Instead of paper, consider making gift tags out of wood or clay!
12. Felt Christmas tree ornaments
With a bit of hot glue and some holiday cut-out felt shapes you can make some lovely (and durable!) ornaments.
They can either lay flat or you can stuff them with newspaper and hot glue the two sides together to have 3 D ornaments.
13. Painted pine cone ornaments
Combine the classic look of rustic pinecones with a more modern vibe of colorful paint.
Dip foraged pinecones in paint, sparkles or add cute bows to create a collection of ornaments.
These would be super cute if they were sold as a set!
14. Hand-painted wooden signs
Paint holiday messages or season greetings on wood for a rustic look.
People love to use these signs for Christmas home decor or to decorate for Christmas parties. Photographers may also buy them for family photoshoots to use them as props!
If you don’t want to do the lettering just use stencils!
15. Seed paper ornaments
These ornaments are truly the gift that keeps on giving.
Create ornaments out of seed paper (paper embedded with seeds) that gift recipients can plant at the end of the holiday season!
16. Cinnamon stick candle holders
Attach a row of cinnamon sticks around glass jars for a beautiful and festive candle holder.
You can hot glue them to the glass and then add a burlap bow to the outside for a rustic touch. They can be sold as is or you can add tea lights inside so they are ready to use!
