14 Easy DIY Halloween Garland Ideas Using Materials From Home

1. Double Halloween banner

This is a perfect garland for your front porch! The layers take up extra space and give it a more grand look!

All you need is some ribbon and black cut out construction paper. Use orange construction paper to create your letters and glue them on top. You can secure the backing to the ribbon with hot glue or tape.

2. Simple pink and black chic garland

I am so obsessed with this simple Halloween banner that is perfect for a preppy Halloween party! It’s an easy way to add a little extra fun to your Halloween party!

If you have left over tissue paper or construction paper, you can simply cut triangles and secure them onto yarn. If you don’t have construction paper, simply use magazines or newspapers and some paint to make unique Halloween banners with all your own designs!

3. Simple cut out pumpkin garland

This is probably the most technical garland on the list but don’t be intimidated.

• Cut a handful of white yarn and fold it in half
• Wrap a small piece of white yarn around the top section to create the head of your ghost
• Use black felt or makers to create eyes
• Sew yarn or thread through the top to connect the ghosts together

I think these are super cute just as the ghosts or if you have wooden beads laying around you can add them to the banner for a more rustic look.

5. Happy Halloween letter cut out garland

Greet your guests with a simple Halloween greeting or saying!

You can even add cute paper bats, ghosts or a witch hat in between the letters if you want a longer banner.

6. Printable Halloween pumpkin garland

If you have a printer, use it! This is the easiest Halloween garland on the list.

Find some adorable Halloween graphics and simply string them up. Sometimes simple decor is best. If you are not super artsy this is a great DIY craft to whip up quickly.

7. Felt spiders simple garland

I love these adorable creepy crawlies! This DIY garland is more durable than others on the list and is super cute to string across your front door or on your front porch.

Either use black pom poms or fabric and stuffing (from newspaper) to create these adorable spiders.

8. Spooky bat garland

This spooky garland is perfect to use as you begin to decorate for your upcoming Halloween party.

You can even paint the bats with glow in the dark paint to keep the festive glow going on Halloween night.

9. Halloween characters for a kid Halloween garland

Kids love to help make Halloween crafts! Give them a paper plate to decorate or construction paper and craft supplies.

Then you can secure them with clothes pins! If they want to take them down later to play with them, this makes it super easy to do so.

10. Classic fall leaf garland

So this isn’t exactly a Halloween garland but it is perfect for the fall season! It was just too cute to not include.

Find some beautiful fall leaves, preserve them with coconut wax or soy wax and string them up. These are super cute if you add fairy lights to them as well.
