Best Valentine’s Day Crafts for Kids
Valentine’s paper plate fish
I absolutely love crafts that are mostly made of items that I already have at home. This heart fish craft is so adorable, and all you need is some paper plates, construction paper, and simple craft supplies like paint and scissors.
This craft is perfect for all ages, unless they are still working on their cutting skills. If so, you can pick up a heart-shaped puncher.
This will keep your hands from cramping, and your little one’s face will glow when they get to press out their heart shapes! (Just be careful because the heart tool can be sharp!)

Valentine’s mini gum ball machines
Isn’t this the sweetest Valentine’s Day craft?! And it actually isn’t as difficult to make as it may look.
All you need is a plastic cup, a plastic globe, gum balls of course and just normal craft supplies. I absolutely love these gum balls specifically because they’re gluten-free and vegan so that means everyone can join in on the fun. Even though they’re more natural, they still have that bright colorful vibe to them!
If you don’t have red plastic cups at home you can easily paint the cups you do have red or use something like cardboard to recreate these as well.
Not only are these diy gumball machines fun to make and decorate (think stickers, sparkles or gems!) but they make a great DIY Valentine’s gift as well.

Valentine’s toilet paper pets
Hold onto those tp rolls for this budget-friendly V-Day craft that are incredibly adorable!
With just your upcycled tp rolls, some paint, and some sparkles, you can make cute Valentine’s home decor or even a holder for a bouquet of flowers or a candy holder.
This tutorial even comes with a template to make cutting the toilet paper rolls even easier, because it does look a little intimidating at first glance.
Really any paint will do (or even markers!), but if you want more vivid colors I would go with some acrylic paint.

Valentine’s sun catcher hearts
This sun catcher craft is so magical and is perfect if you have a preschooler who’s crafting! Use up some leftover coffee filters you may have, and wrangle up whatever markers you have, and you have the perfect (and simple!) Valentine’s craft.
I think these are super cute, simply taped to the windows so the light can filter in, but you can easily turn these into a garland. Because coffee filters are so thin, you may need to use a needle and thread so they don’t tear if you decide to make a garland.
One more thing, do not forget a tray under this specific craft or else you will have a tie dye kitchen table!

Valentine’s hair clips
I am actually obsessed with these Valentine’s Day clips! Crafts that you can actually use are the best, and these are so adorable, I’m sure your kids will continue to use these even when the holiday is over!
You can easily use hair clips you already have to give them a festive Valentine’s touch. Just make sure your clips are wide enough so that you can customize them with all of the adorable Valentine’s charms.
If you already have Valentine’s themed charms that you love you can just pick up this clip kit that comes with everything you need to make these cute clips!

Air dry heart bowl

Air-dry clay crafts are always a fun go-to and are relatively inexpensive as well! To make a simple heart bowl, you can create a simple pinch pot by starting with a sphere and shaping it into a 3D heart.
Another option is to roll out some flat pieces of clay, then cut out the heart shape and the heart-shaped wall of the bowl to attach together in a bowl-like shape. Either method is relatively easy, but the pinch pot method is probably easiest if you are crafting with toddlers.
I find that acrylic paint works the best with decorating clay, but you could even add a few gems or Valentine’s charms into the clay as well if your kids enjoy shiny stuff!

XO heart garland sewing craft

My favorite types of crafts are the ones that double as home decor that you can display throughout your home!
All you need are some pink and red felt sheets, a fabric marker (or even a simple washable marker), and whatever yarn, ribbon, or twine you have at home.
Simply draw out your letters and hearts, either freestyling it or using stencils or cookie cutters, and then cut them out along the lines. If your kids are practicing their writing skills, this craft is a great way to practice that as well.
Once you have your letters cut out, you can string them up to create an adorable garland to enjoy year after year!
Valentine’s craft for toddlers: sewing heart project

I didn’t forget the little ones on this list! This simple Valentine’s craft is great for toddlers because there isn’t a lot of cutting involved, but it still works on their fine motor skills.
All you need is some cardboard cut into a heart shape and some red yarn to weave around the cutout. This craft will keep your kiddos focused for a while, and if they keep going it will create an adorable almost stuffed animal as it becomes more 3 D.
Sometimes, the best crafts are the simple ones, and especially ones that each age group can have something they’re proud of at the end!

Layered Valentine’s cards

Can’t skip these classic Valentine’s cards! Pull out all of the pink and red paper or wrapping paper you have to create classic heart shaped cards.
I love the added touch of bows, flowers, and paper doilies for a vintage look. The most important part is that you stack the papers to give it a more 3D look. You can leave them as is for table decor, hand them out to classmates, or mail them to loved ones far away!
