5 Comfy Yoga Outfits to Try If You are Bored of Your Usual Yoga Leggings
Figuring out a yoga outfit you feel comfortable in and fits your personal style can be a bit tricky.
You want to feel confident as you flow but also not have any outfit malfunctions throughout class. Whether you are flowing in a yoga studio or enjoying yoga at home, you deserve to have yoga outfits that make you feel comfortable and confident.
This list will cover all the best yoga outfits you can consider if you are getting tired of your usual leggings and tank tops!
This post is all about the best yoga outfits.
What Should I Wear To Yoga?
You can truly wear whatever you want to yoga! As long as you are covered and comfortable then you are ready to flow.
There can be a lot of pressure to have the best brand new yoga set but that truly is not necessary. Just wear what you love and keep your attention on your breath and the present moment and I can guarantee you will receive all the benefits of yoga.
I encourage you to opt for second hand yoga clothes when buying yoga outfits as well.
I have found the majority of my yoga outfits from the app, Poshmark, where you can buy and sell used clothes.
All of your favorite brands like Lululemon, Free People Movement, Alo yoga can be found on there! You can even specify the color, size and style of what you are looking for which is similar to a normal online shopping experience!
The Best Yoga Outfit Ideas
1. Onesie
Personally, I am obsessed with onesies! If you haven’t heard of them yet, basically it is leggings and a top that are connected. Other names or these pieces are rompers (shorts) or jumpsuits (long pants).
Onesies are great because you don’t have to worry about outfit malfunctions as you flow since the whole outfit is connected. When you get to downward dog your shirt won’t be falling into your face.
2. T shirt
You know all those random t shirts you get from events? Wear them to your next yoga session!
It can be fun to buy specific yoga clothes but there is nothing wrong with just wearing what you have. It is more sustainable to wear the clothes you already have rather than going out and buyin a whole new yoga wardrobe.
It’s really up to you but this option can also help you save a bit of money too!

3. Flare yoga pants
These are finally coming back in fashion and for good reason! Flare leggings are super flattering for just about everyone.
Unlike a few years ago, some of the new style of flare leggings have slits on the side or front for a more unique look. If you like the length of leggings but just want something a bit different, try out flare yoga pants!
4. Joggers or sweatpants
No shame in sporting some sweatpants to yoga! I wouldn’t recommend sweatpants to a hot yoga class (unless you’re really hoping to sweat!) but sweatpants can be a looked over clothing choice for yoga.
Sweatpants are a great alternative to leggings if you want to wear more loose fitting clothes to flow in.
To balance your look you can pair it with a more form fitting yoga tops or keep the loose feel with a t-shirt. It’s really up to whatever you feel most comfortable in!

5. Yoga shorts, crop top, tank top
Depending on the style of yoga you practice you may want to consider lighter clothing to flow in.
If you love hot yoga or practicing yoga outside, choosing yoga outfits that give you a bit more room to breathe could be your new go to!
6. Classic yoga leggings and top
I know this list is all about avoiding leggings but I still wanted to add this option because there is a reason they are popular!
Wearing form fitting clothes in yoga allows your yoga teacher to be able to clearly see how your body is moving through each pose. If you are in a smaller yoga class this can allow your yoga teacher to offer hands on adjustments and fine tune your poses.
Of course, you, yourself are your most important teacher but it can be helpful to get specific alignment tips from an experienced teacher as well.
Many yogis love to throw on leggings and sports bras so they don’t have to focus on a yoga outfit that slips around!
Where can I buy sustainable activewear?

How to mindfully transition your collection of yoga clothes
So you decided that you want to switch up your workout clothes but how do you do it in a way that doesn’t harm the environment and impact your wallet too much?
I suggest taking some time to inspect your current yoga clothes collection to see what is salvageable and what is not. If you have been practicing yoga for a while you may have yoga outfits that have holes, are see through or just don’t match your current style.
Try to donate or sell what you can rather than throwing it in the trash. You may get some money back for your clothes which you can reinvest into more high quality yoga clothing brands.
If you have yoga outfits that are just not salvageable then consider sending them to a place that recycles textiles. A really great place to recycle clothing is TerraCycle. All you have to do is sign up online, they’ll send you a box and you can send in your clothes for recycling.
