Dill pickle popcorn ingredients
Popcorn kernels or pre-popped popcorn: fresh popcorn made on the stovetop is probably best but there’s nothing wrong with a bag of pre-popped popcorn!
It’s nice to have on hand so whenever you are craving this recipe you can cut down on prep time immensely!
Best pre-popped popcorn bags (all vegan):
*microwave popcorn works too!
Dried dill weed: Dill is super easy to grow at home and makes the perfect addition to your kitchen herb garden. It grows abundantly and is pretty low maintenance. Or you can pick up a jar of dill that’s already dried and ready to go!
Dill pickle juice: If you’re a pickle lover you probably have a jar of these pickles in your home. The best part is that you only need a bit of the juice to make this perfect snack.
Vegan melted butter: Around here we use vegan butter but you can substitute with whatever your preferred butter is (;
Salt and black pepper: The classic duo. Can’t let your dish leave the kitchen without a dash of each of these.
Garlic powder: Garlic just makes every recipe better. I find myself adding it to just about everything. It’s a good consistent base and it will help to ground the more intense flavors in this recipe.
Onion powder: Another supporting actor! Garlic and onion should always make a paired appearance in my opinion. While your taste buds enjoy the rollercoaster of the dill, diffuse things a bit with good ol onion powder.
Oil for stovetop popcorn: If you’re making your popcorn from scratch, don’t forget to include either olive oil, canola oil, coconut oil, or avocado oil.
Optional flavorings: Make it spicy! Add in a dash of these fiery seasonings to really take your popcorn to the next level: cayenne pepper, crushed red pepper flakes, chili powder, hot sauce powder. For an extra cheesy flavor add a bit of nutritional yeast as well!
Optional tools: spray bottle for your butter, airtight container to keep your popcorn fresh, or large paper bags to gift the popcorn to friends! If you find yourself constantly collecting popcorn recipes you may want to invest in an air popper! They’re perfect for family gatherings or if you have a popcorn toppings bar at a party.
