It’s no secret that adding extra protein to your day can help you to feel more full and satisfied but what exactly are the best tasting vegan protein bars you can keep in your pantry to supplement your meals?
When I first went vegan I struggled with feeling hungry all the time! I didn’t realize that when you focus on eating only plants you tend to need to eat more and protein bars really saved me! They are a great way to add a bit more substance to your morning breakfast or as a post workout snack.
This post will cover all the best vegan protein bars from homemade to store bought and most are organic too!
This post is all about the best vegan protein bars.
How to make a high protein vegan breakfast?
Starting your day with extra protein can set you up for a great day. It will ensure that you feel full and will help you to focus throughout the day.
Here are a few quick tips to include extra protein in your breakfast:
- Add a vegan protein bar to your usual breakfast!
- Consider trying different cuisines for breakfast. Gallo pinto is a popular breakfast dish in Costa Rica and has protein thanks to the beans.
- Have a protein smoothie and add peanut butter for extra protein
- Make avocado and chickpea mash on toast
- For a quick breakfast, you can prepare protein waffles and add peanut butter
The Best Organic Vegan Protein Bars
1. Aloha Protein Bars (*Organic)
Not only are Aloha bars delicious and protein packed, they also have a really amazing list of certifications that look out for the earth and the community!
My favorite thing they do is support a program in Hawaii called Kupu that helps people advance in their sustainability careers!
Here are some of their amazing certifications:
- B Corp certified
- Carbon offset shipping
- Fair trade certified
- Certified vegan
- Certified organic
- Support local initiatives and organizations
2. Homemade Protein Bars or Protein Balls
Protein balls are SO convenient to meal prep and have on hand for a quick nutritious snack.
DIY protein balls and bars are great because you can of course not only customize the flavor but also the protein amount.
Here are some great ingredients to add to your homemade protein bars:
- Nut butters (peanut butter, almond butter, macadamia butter etc.)
- Nuts
- Dried fruit
- Protein powder
- Help seeds, chia seeds, flax seeds
- Chocolate
- Agave
*opt for organic options when possible!
3. Go Macro Protein Bars (*Organic)
Sometimes protein bars and powders can be filled with funky ingredients but Go Macro bars contain no high fructose corn syrup or preservatives!
These bars don’t have the most amount of protein, averaging about 11grams per bar, but they do have amazing ingredients and sustainable practices so they had to be included on the list!
They also just came out with a new kids line, Go Macro kids, that are soft and chewy and come in fun flavors for your littles like their cinnamon roll and brownie flavors.

4. Orgain Protein Bars (*Organic)
Orain makes incredible protein powder to add to smoothies but I have yet to try their protein bars. I can only imagine they are just as good!
These protein bars are one of the most affordable store bought option on this list!
Some of their fun protein bar flavors include:
- Smores
- Cookie Dough
- Chocolate coconut
5. Lara Bar Protein Bar
I absolutely LOVE how simple the ingredients in Lara bars are. Talk about whole food plant-based!
Lara bars may not have as much protein as the other bars on this list but they are still a great way to get in a little extra protein.
I love to pair a Lara bar with a morning smoothie or a light lunch just for a little extra boost.

6. Cliff Bar Builders Protein Bar
Another affordable option is Cliff bars! Cliff bars are a popular snack for many but did you know about their special protein builder bars?
The protein builder bars pack an impressive 20 grams of protein and taste really good too!
Although these bars are not certified organic, they are non GMO!
The bars come in pretty standard flavors but I wanted to highlight that one of the bars contain caffeine if you are in need of a bit of an energy boost as well!
