If you’re looking for a natural way to get going in the morning and add a splash of sunshine to your day, this Golden Glow Juice is exactly what you need.

Why Make Fresh Juice at Home?

pineapple, orange and ginger

Juicing at home gives you control over what goes into your body. You can avoid added sugars, preservatives, and artificial flavors that are found in store-bought juices.

When you make juice at home, you can ensure that it is fresh and hasn’t been sitting in a fridge or freezer for days and days.

I also love that I can customize my drink exactly how I want it. I personally love ginger, so I will load my juices up, and I can’t necessarily do that if I’m grabbing one from a juice shop!

Best Juicer on a Budget

Juicing can get pricey very quickly, but there are ways to cut costs! I wrote up a whole blog post about how to save money while juicing that you can check out here

But the best juicer on a budget that I have found is this one from Magic Bullet. This is the juicer I use on a weekly basis, and I find that I get a decent amount of juice out of it.

Once I’m done juicing, the pulp is relatively dry, which is a great sign that I got the most out of my ingredients. That being said, it is a budget-friendly option, so the pulp isn’t bone dry.

I love that it is small enough to hide away in a kitchen cabinet too. As long as I rinse it off right after juicing, it is pretty easy to clean as well. It comes with a little brush to really get into the nooks and crannies of the juicer as well.

One day I want to invest in a fancier juicer like this one, but for now, I’m really pleased with this simple countertop juicer!

If you don’t want to spend money on a juicer at all, check out this post where I share exactly how to juice without a juicer!

Morning Fresh Pressed Juice Ingredients Breakdown

Pineapple: Pineapple is the sweet base that ensures the tangy parts of this juice aren’t too overwhelming. Other than its sweetness, pineapple is also super juicy. J

uicy fruits are ideal for juicing recipes because you end up with a lot more juice than if you were juicing strawberries, for example.

Don’t forget to save the crown of your pineapple to replant it! Here’s more info on that:

Orange: Oranges add a tangy sweetness to this juice, and similar to pineapple, they have a high water content to really bulk up your juice. I love to grab a big bag of oranges to help make this juice more budget-friendly.

Lemon: Lemon adds a refreshing zing to the juice. Of course, you get that citrus taste from the oranges, but the lemon is where the tang really comes in! Make sure to peel the lemons so it isn’t overly tangy!

Ginger: Fresh Ginger root brings a spicy kick to your juice that you can’t miss! I prefer to peel my ginger just to ensure all of the dirt is removed before it gets juiced. Ginger isn’t going to release a ton of juice, but you will taste the strong flavor from it.

Turmeric: Turmeric gives this juice its gorgeous golden color. If your grocery store doesn’t have turmeric, you can use carrots instead. It will help your juice have that bright orange color, but of course, it will have a more carrot juice taste.

How to Store Juice Leftovers

Fresh-pressed juice is best when enjoyed right away, but if you need to store it:

  • Pour it into an airtight glass jar
  • Store in the fridge for up to 48 hours
  • Shake well before drinking, since it will separate.

If you want to prep juice for the week, be sure to freeze it in single portions. Then you can thaw it in the fridge the night before to enjoy in the morning.

Best organic turmeric powder

If your grocery store doesn’t carry fresh turmeric, you can always use organic turmeric powder instead.

You can simply make the juice per this recipe and add half a teaspoon or so in at the end. Just remember that it does stain, so be careful since it’s a bulky bag!

Do you have to peel turmeric before juicing?

Nope! You don’t have to peel turmeric before juicing, especially if it’s organic.

Just be sure to give it a good scrub to get any leftover dirt off. Personally, I like to wash it off and then peel it just for extra precaution.

How long does turmeric last?

Fresh turmeric root can last about 2–3 weeks in the fridge if stored properly in a sealed container.

Dried turmeric powder can actually last up to 2–3 years when kept in a cool, dry place.

Always be sure to check for mold or odd smells before consuming it.

How to freeze turmeric?

To freeze turmeric root, simply wash and dry it thoroughly. Then pop it in a freezer-safe bag or an airtight container. Just make sure to use glass so that the turmeric doesn’t stain your container.

It can be frozen whole or sliced. I prefer to peel it and slice it into sections so it’s ready to be used in smoothies. I wouldn’t suggest throwing frozen ginger in your juicer because it may break your machine. Let it thaw a bit before juicing it.

How to store turmeric powder?

You should keep turmeric powder in an air-tight container (like a mason jar). If you use a container like silicone or cotton bags, it will stain. Make sure your jar is away from light, heat, and moisture. I store mine in a kitchen drawer, but a spice cabinet or pantry works great too!

How to store turmeric root?

Turmeric root should be stored in a cool, dry, and moisture-free place. Once it starts to shrivel or feel mushy, it means it’s time to throw it away.

If you want to store your leftover turmeric root from juicing, be sure to store it in an air-tight container in the fridge

How to make ginger turmeric shots?

To make ginger turmeric shots, you can use the same exact recipe in this post and simply put it in smaller bottles. I really love these tiny glass bottles that seal tightly!

What does turmeric taste like?

Turmeric has an earthy, warm, and slightly bitter flavor. It’s a unique flavor that is unlike any other.

Turmeric is great for fresh-pressed juices, tea, and more savory dishes like curries. Turmeric is native to southwestern India and can be found in a lot of dishes from there! You can learn more about the history of turmeric and the benefits of turmeric here.
