Easy DIY Spring Crafts For Adults

DIY Flower clip

Who doesn’t want their hair graced by an assortment of flowers?!

Whether you use fresh flowers, dried flowers, or fake flowers, this simple craft is perfect for a cute spring hair accessory that adds a pop of color to your crown!

Go through your hair accessories and find any hair clips that you no longer use. Make sure they are wide enough for a flower to be able to attach to them. Use a hot glue gun or thin wire to attach your favorite flowers to them.

If you’re using fake flowers, make sure to use extra glue so the plastic petals don’t fall off! Thrift stores tend to have lots of fake flowers that you can wash off and upcycle.

Stamped cloth napkins

Aren’t these fabrics adorable?! They got me thinking about how cute it would be to pick up some blank napkins and stamps to create DIY spring-themed cloth napkins!

I am not an expert sewer, so I’ll just be using premade cloth napkins, but you could totally sew napkins from unused fabric you have.

Then simply pick up some fabric paint and stamps to make your pattern. I think fruit, Easter eggs, carrots/cabbage, or baby chicks would be adorable patterns to create.

These napkins can be the perfect addition to your spring tablescapes or tag along on spring picnics!

Painted plant pots or flower vases

I hope your spring season includes plenty of fresh bouquets or a new house plant!

To give it a new home, upcycle some ceramic pots with bright spring colors. You can keep it simple with pastel stripes or dots, or you could use the stamps from the cloth napkin craft to make spring-themed pots.

Your DIY pot can be the perfect centerpiece on your dining room table, coffee table, or entryway table. Super cute and easy way to create home decor that’s on theme and doesn’t require you to be a pro artist!

Pressed flower bookmarks

Continuing on with the flower theme, use dried flowers and watercolor paint to create beautiful DIY bookmarks!

There are two super easy ways to make these. Either use contact paper to press the flowers together, or you can use bookmark sleeves that come with a simple tassel.

If you want to make a bookmark that isn’t in a rectangular shape, contact paper is the best option.

I think just the flowers are perfect, but you can also paint paper, lay the flowers on top, and then sandwich your creation inside the bookmark for a more colorful look.

Farmers market tote bags

Once the cold of winter starts to wear off, all of the farmer’s markets start opening up again! Create a tote bag to bring home all of your fresh produce in!

There are endless ways to upcycle tote bags.

From fabric paint to fabric markers, patches, buttons, ribbons, and more, let your creativity run wild with creating a sturdy bag you can use again and again at every farmer’s market, botanical garden walk, and picnic that spring brings your way!

Clay garden markers

Whether you’re planning a backyard raised garden bed or just a windowsill herb garden, DIY garden planters are a beginner-friendly craft that basically anyone can make!

All you need is some air-dry clay or polymer clay (this type has to be baked in the oven!) to create them. Choose the shape of your marker, whether you want tags on the pot held on by yarn or sticks in the soil. You can carve the name of the plant or use paint/markers to write the name.

If you are more of a houseplant person, you can even mold little stones or plaques and write funny sayings on them using letter clay stamps. Then decorate all of your house plants with them!

Spring simmer pot bags

When I think of simmer pots, fall and winter come to mind for me, but having a cozy home during spring is a thing too!

I love simmer pot mixtures because they are super customizable and can make great gifts if you want to give a friend or neighbor a random spring surprise!

Here are some ingredients I think would work perfectly in a spring-themed simmer pot:

  • Dried flowers: lavender, rose petals
  • Herbs: Mint, rosemary, thyme
  • Fruit: lemon, lime, grapefruit
  • Misc: Ginger, your favorite essential oils

Head to your local thrift store to find beautiful teacups, or upcycle ones you already have at home. The candle kits below make the process beginner-friendly, with everything you need to melt the wax, add your wick, and create a stunning handmade candle you’ll love displaying all season long!

Spring adult coloring sheets

Sit in the sun and zone out with a simple coloring sheet! Paint, markers, or color pencils will do-bonus points if they’re in pastel colors!

I think these paint markers are really fun and have a strong pigment, kinda the best of both worlds when it comes to craft tools.

Anyways, spring is the perfect time to bring your coloring sheets and art supplies out to your backyard, local botanical garden, or park to soak in the sun, admire spring florals, and take notice of all the spring rebirth happening around you.

You can download this coloring sheet by clicking here! Browse around in the shop! There are some other flower and Easter-themed coloring sheets as well!
