Easy Winter Craft Ideas For Adults

Pom Pom winter themed wreath

Recreate this fluffy wreath to welcome guests into your home this winter season! All you need is a pool noodle from your garage, some pom poms, and some little snowflakes. If you don’t have a leftover pool noodle, you can get creative with other items in your home or a premade wreath.

I absolutely love natural wreaths made from evergreen and even some dried oranges, but sometimes mixing things up with more color can be fun too! Make sure you use a hot glue gun or strong wire to ensure your pom poms don’t fall off and create litter!

DIY lip balm charms

I don’t know about you, but my lips can get SO chapped during the winter season. To remedy that, I try to keep lip balm in every bag, backpack, and purse that I have, but sometimes they get lost in the depths of my bag.

Enter these adorable keychain lip balms! You can hook them onto the side of your bag or inside to ensure they stay visible.

They are super easy to make, especially with the charm kits below! The only tough part is poking a small hole in the corner so that your charms have something to hang on.

This craft will make your life a bit easier, but it’s also a super fun girls’ night activity if you are hosting a winter crafting party!

DIY book sleeve

Is this not the absolute cutest book sleeve? Personally, I love to cozy up on the couch at home with my book during the winter months, but if you want to bring your book to a coffee shop or the library, a book sleeve is a great way to keep it safe!

I don’t have an exact tutorial for this craft, but if you know how to sew a straight line (or YouTube a beginner video!) I think basically anyone can do it. Or! If you have a hot glue gun (or this fabric glue) you could use that to keep the bag secure.

  1. Start by folding a small sheet of fabric in half to create the bag. Sew/glue the two sides together but leave the top open.
  2. Then cut a half-circle shape for the flap. Don’t forget to add the adorable ruffles on the edges.
  3. Tie a ribbon around the book sleeve, and add a bit of glue under the ribbon so you don’t lose it! If you don’t want a big ribbon/bow you could also sew/glue on a button!

DIY painted puzzle

Winter is the perfect time to cozy up and do a puzzle. Rather than dusting off your puzzles from last season, why not make your own?!

All you need is a blank puzzle kit and some acrylic paint! You don’t have to be an artist to make a beautiful puzzle. Even an abstract painting of winter scenery or just winter colors mashed together (think blue, white, and silver) can create a pretty yet challenging homemade puzzle.

If you celebrate Christmas, this is the perfect homemade gift because they can reuse it year after year. Don’t forget to finish it off with a coat of Mod Podge for that glassy look and to keep your masterpiece protected!

Loom potholder, purse, or wall decor

Loom crafts can look a bit intimidating, but I promise they’re not! Especially with this beginner-friendly guide.

I love loom projects because once you get the hang of it, you can expand past simple squares (great for coasters or potholders!) and start creating purses, makeup bags, large wall decor tapestries etc.!

Play around with your favorite yarn colors and textures to create a unique piece to display in your home or gift to a loved one.

I couldn’t find the exact beginner loom that I have, but the one below is super similar and even comes with extra tools to make it simpler!

DIY teacup candles

Head to your local thrift store or upcycle some of your unused teacups and coffee mugs! These teacup candles are so adorable and are incredibly easy to make.

All you need is the cup, some wax, and a wick. Add in your favorite scents and even some florals to make the candles even more special!

The kit below comes with everything you need to get started!

Marbled Christmas ornament

I didn’t want this post to be all Christmas crafts, but I couldn’t pass up at least one! I love this simple homemade ornament because it only requires a couple of supplies.

You can even upcycle ornaments you already have. Fill them with your favorite colors of acrylic paint, and you have the perfect unique ornaments for your Christmas tree.

Even adding a bit of glitter can make them extra festive and merry!

DIY slippers

Cozy up with some custom-designed house slippers! You can use the ones you already have and simply iron on the patches below, or use a bit of fabric glue to attach them securely.

Whether you want a simple smiley face, your initials, or a positive affirmation, there are tons of different ways to bring a little cheer to your house slippers!

DIY decorative matchbox

Elevate your matchboxes with a bit of flair! If you have leftover gift wrapping from the holidays, you can bring new life to your match boxes.

Sometimes, small details like decorated matchboxes can bring a bit of joy to your day when you go to light your candles and set your space for a cozy night in.

DIY Magazine vision board

Although winter comes with plenty of rest, it’s also a great time of year to start planning (and dreaming up!) your upcoming year.

My favorite way to do it is with a vision board. Round up some magazines or print off images to create a giant collage of all of your dreams for the upcoming year.

You can use paper or even cardboard as a budget-friendly option. If you want to display your vision board you can pop it in a simple frame!

Homemade winter body scrub

Don’t let the cold of winter dry out your skin! I love whipping up a winter-themed body scrub to buff off dry skin and winter blues. All you need is one part coconut oil and two parts sugar (or coffee grounds!).

I even like to add in a few drops of peppermint essential oil for a Christmasy feel to it (make sure to patch test the essential oils on your skin first, though!).

An old jar or upcycled food container makes a great container for this craft as well because they’re air tight.

This simple DIY is the perfect way to upcycle items lying around your home and turn them into a refreshing and special self-care moment!

DIY crochet coaster

Crocheting is the ultimate cozy winter craft, but it can be a bit intimidating, so that’s why I saved it for last!

A small project like a circular coaster is the perfect place to start because they’re pretty hard to mess up (unlike a square patch that can end up uneven).

Anyway, the kit below is perfect for beginners, or even video tutorials can be helpful if you need a visual.
